PTSU (Professional Technical Staff Union) Local 60551 is in ongoing first contract negotiations with UNB. As you may be aware, they do not yet have their first collective agreement after having been at the bargaining table for the past 6 years. Their last four days of bargaining are scheduled for February 18-21, 2020. If PTSU cannot come to an agreement with UNB after these dates, they will be asking the conciliator for a no board report. Following a cooling off period they will be in a legal position to take job action.
PTSU is planning a rally on Thursday February 13 (storm date: February 14), 12-1pm. The gathering location is the SUB on the Fredericton campus, and Oland Hall on the Saint John campus.
Our PTSU coworkers are asking AUNBT members and other UNB unions to join them in a show of support for their efforts to reach their first collective agreement. A strong turnout will solidify their position at the bargaining table.
AUNBT members are encouraged to attend the rallies planned in Fredericton and Saint John and show support for our PTSU colleagues.
