Dear AUNBT member:
The University is considering a significant change in the life insurance component of the fringe benefits plan for various employee groups, including the AUNBT full-time group.
Article 35.04 of the Full-Time (Group 1) Collective Agreement states: “Changes of any kind in the coverage of any of the fringe benefit plans or eligibility of Employees for participation in those plans shall only be made with the explicit prior agreement of the Association.” As a result,
- The proposal will be brought for discussion at the AUNBT Fall General Meeting on December 7, 2018.
- The proposed changes in the life insurance component of the benefit plan will be brought to full-time membership for a vote in January, soon after the Winter term begins. Exact dates will be announced in December.
A summary of the proposed changes, as provided to us by UNB, is attached to this message.

AUNBT will collate questions, remove names and email addresses, and forward a set of requests for clarification to UNB.
